Guy Babusek was fortunate enough to have his teacher, master vocal pedagogue and founder of the Speech Level Singing technique, Seth Riggs sit down with him for an extended interview. Here is the first part of that interview. If you would like to study with Guy Babusek and don’t live locally to my studio, you might consider taking lessons via Skype. www.voice-lessons.com

“I don’t want to go back to puberty” hahaha
Seth continues to speak truth to power. Finally, many so-called “legit” teachers, are finding the truth behind Speech Level Singing. Thanks, Guy for putting this vial information on youtube.
I recommend finding a good voice teacher who knows what they are doing. It’s almost impossible to do it on your own.
This stuff never makes sense to me. I can never tell if I’m doing it right cuz I can manipulate my voice to copycat the sounds I’m hearing but it always feels like crap and I just can’t
seem to “get” it. It’s sooo frustrating not to be able to sing on pitch with breath control and in a voice that doesn’t sound like a completely other person since my speaking voice is such a limited range before it doesn’t sound like me anymore.
thnx guy – u nice guy – very very helpful
Right!
*gasp *I am…I AM…SHOCKED!! I’ve been doing a self-taught semi falsetto technique to hit high notes cause my voice is configured 4 really low notes but…this is giving me instant results!!
That semi falsetto would wear my voice down way to quickly…but this doesn’t! My real voice! I am SO thankful…
I use it with great success. You are a wonderful teacher. Long life and happiness to you always
Speech-Level-Singing = Enlongated speech. Singing with the ease of speech.
I think the bridge would be “Brücke” or “Übergang” (passage) in German, cause I think “Mittelstimme” is reserved for the mix area. But I don’t even know what the right singing term is in German, cause no one here has a clue how to teach this stuff, sadly.
thank you
I’m a speech level singer as well
He explains it perfectly
I fell so lucky to have started in this way
But so sad that Dave left
he was so good
but he was in it for 25 years
and had no life because of it :/
I hope he’s relaxing somewhere
Hey GUY
I miss you ………….
