I’m a celebrity vocal coach and artist development expert. And I help artist find their voice, craft their music, and create successful music careers. I’ve worked with Donald Fagen from Steely Dan, Courtney Love from Hole, I’ve worked with the band Journey. I’m going to teach you how to be a better singer and performer So I’m going to show you how to belt without ruining your voice. The first thing to understand is that it doesn’t require a lot of force to belt. So when we think of belting, we think of a lot of impact and a lot of force. Unfortunately that causes problems here. So with a singer you want to get a deeper breath because breath is what fuels the voice. So number one, breath. Number two, don’t hit the sound so hard. Number three, keep the mouth more open. So these are three things you can do right away to start belting without straining the vocal instrument. You also want to practice vocal exercises so your voice gets stronger. Your voice gets stronger as you sing and as you practice. Vocal exercises are really a focused way that you can make changes in the physical voice and get stronger because ultimately the stronger your voice the more you can belt with ease. If I sing the word stay, I’m going to sing – STAY [sing]. OK. Now when I sang that I didn’t go – STAY

R. Crumb: The Complete Record Cover Collection

Robert Crumb first began drawing record covers in 1968 when Janis Joplin, a fellow Haight Ashbury denizen, asked him to provide a cover for her album Cheap Thrills. It was an invitation the budding artist couldn’t resist, especially since he had been fascinated with record covers-particularly for the legendary jazz, country, and old-time blues music of the 1920s and 1930s-since he was a teen. This early collaboration proved so successful that Crumb went on to draw hundreds of record covers for both new artists and largely forgotten masters. So remarkable were Crumb’s artistic interpretations of these old 78 rpm singles that the art itself proved influential in their rediscovery in the 1960s and 1970s. Including such classics as Truckin’ My Blues Away, Harmonica Blues, and Please Warm My Weiner, Crumb’s opus also features more recent covers done for CDs. R. Crumb: The Complete Record Cover Collection is a must-have for any lover of graphics and old-time music. Conner is 4 yrs. old & has autism. One day in May 2010, his sister was watching Justin Bieber sing ‘Baby’. Conner loved it! He jumped up & to our amazement started trying to sing & dance to it. At that time, he was just learning to speak in small sentences that sounded more like a young kid learning to read a book. We were shocked to hear him sing the sentences so well! Conner still loves to dance and sing to ‘Baby’. In fact, sometimes he demands it! lol If he hears it in the car then he wants it played over & over. He will say “pweease mama”. At home, if his sister leaves the youtube page open to Justin Bieber videos, he recognizes it in the column & clicks on it to watch the video. Sometimes, he just starts singing it out of the blue. I really believe that he is one of the biggest ‘BABY’ fans out there! (BTW, for those inquiring for autism research…..yes, we do provide books and other forms of educational materials for him! We just made this video because he loves the song so much & we enjoy watching him sing it!) thanx :) On another note, please know that statistics show that 1 out of every 110 children in the US has austim & the numbers are rising! Unfortunately, only 3%-4% actually do receive therapy because it costs more then most people can afford. Autism is worldwide & all of these children need our help! PLEASE SHOW THAT YOU CARE & BE AWARE! Thank you! I do not own the rights to this song.

Pop Singing Lessons: How to Expand Your Vocal Range

Handle any emergency with Howcast’s First Aid app – howc.st Learn how to expand your vocal range in this pop singing tutorial. Expert: Cari Cole Video transcript: Hi I’m Cari Cole. I’m a celebrity vocal coach and artist development expert. And I help artist find their voice, craft their music, and create successful music careers. I’ve worked with Donald Fagen from Steely Dan, Courtney Love from Hole, I’ve worked with the band Journey. I’m going to teach you how to be a better singer and performer So, I’m going to give you a tip or two for how to expand your vocal range. Vocal range is basically expanded and increased by vocalizing more, by studying, by training, but the principal behind is that there is an overtone series in the voice and when the voice is aligned physically more correctly, because singing is a very physical event, it’s a coordination of air and muscle, and you must master the breath and you must master your alignment. I always talk a lot about alignment, your chest has to be up, your chin has to be down, your head has to be back. If you are jutting forward when you are singing, you’re going to be singing from these muscles and you really need to, in order to get that column of air and that flow of breath, your chin needs to be down and your head needs to be back. So alignment is a very important part of this. So the vocal range gets expanded when the overtone series starts to ring. So if I sing and I sing without an open mouth and a position that is

Get Heavy D’s Music: www.amazon.com & itunes.apple.com Dwight Errington Myers (born May 24, 1967), better known as Heavy D, is a Jamaican American actor, rapper, singer and former leader of Heavy D & the Boyz, a hip hop group which included G-Whiz (Glen Parrish), “Trouble” T. Roy (Troy Dixon), and Eddie F (born Edward Ferrell). The group maintained a sizable audience in the United States through most of the 1990s. The album was a commercial success, though Big Tyme was a breakthrough that included four hits. Trouble T. Roy died at age 22 in a fall on July 15, 1990, in Indianapolis. Dixon’s passing led to a tribute on the follow-up platinum album, Peaceful Journey. Pete Rock & CL Smooth created a tribute to Trouble T. Roy called “They Reminisce Over You (TROY)” which is regarded as a hip-hop classic. Heavy D & the Boyz gained even more fame by singing the theme song for the television program In Living Color and also MADtv, and Heavy D performed the rap on Michael Jackson’s hit single “Jam.” However, the group’s next album, Blue Funk, was not marketed as well as their previous albums
